Popularly recognized
in the Indian Community as Shoba Ji, is a one woman
show; Promoting, Presenting and Hosting Radio Broadcasts
over the airwaves of Houston for the last 16 years.
A Master’s
Degree in Journalism, immense love and vast knowledge
of the Indian Music Industry are the basis on which
an idea of presenting a good quality Radio Broadcast
took birth in 1993. Her first Radio Broadcast as
the Anchor & Host was under the label of “Sargam”
on AM1070 and thereafter moved on to be called “Geet
Sangeet” on AM1270, that went on air for several
years, every evening between 6pm and 10pm, Monday
through Friday. The same radio station changed its
frequencies to AM1560 KILE and Shoba Joshi without
interruption switched to weekends only and was heard
every Sunday between the hours of 1-3pm in the afternoons.
From the year
2005, a change was made in line with many requests
from her wide range of listeners for extended hours.
With due respect for the hearing audience and their
request, a four hour long presentation was conceived.
‘GEETANJALI RADIO’ This Radio Broadcast
is now being aired from a radio station that actively
supports Multilingual Programming, AM 1320, every
Saturday from 2 PM TO 6PM SUNDAYS 2PM TO 6PM in
the afternoon.
Of course, this
15 year un-interrupted presentation by Shoba Joshi
in her very soothing crystal clear voice has been
with the good wishes and blessings of the hearing
audiences which has grown into very large numbers
and the strong support of her Advertisers and Community
Leaders - Both of whom she has always thanked from
the bottom of her heart.
In addition
to being a Radio Promoter & Host, Shoba also
presented and hosted a T.V. show,
‘TV SOUTH ASIA’ every Sunday at 10.00
am on Regular TV Channel 61 KYZH in Houston City;
from 1997 to 2001. A show that had become a wake

of Houston with Bollywood Music Videos, Interviews
